Enhanced due diligence (EDD) for SKN Citizenship by Investment program involves rigorous, and thorough background checks conducted by international agencies, financial institutions, and government authorities to assess risks involving primary applicants and adult dependents against global sanctions lists, Interpol/Europol databases, and verifies the origin of investment funds. This is done to protect the integrity and reputation of SK&N citizenship by investment program.
EDD can be triggered by any one of the following, when an applicant:
- Has lived in several countries.
- Holds multiple nationalities.
- Owns businesses in high-risk jurisdictions.
- Listed in OFAC or UN sanctions.
- Financial connection to high risk countries.
- Unable to prove legally obtained. source of funds.
- Has a complex corporate structure.
- Is a politically exposed person (PEP).
- Requires additional sanctions or compliance screening.
- Adverse media reports.
The EDD screening takes processing of application longer than usual can delay the outcome of application.
