The St.Kitts CIU is the dedicated authority for processing applications submitted by authorized agents. The most common cause of delays is submitting an application with missing, expired, unsigned, or incorrectly certified documents.
Common Reasons
Applicant Delays can occur for these reasons
- Required documents are missing or expired.
- Incorect or Missing notarization, translations etc..
- Incomplete applications with missing information.
- Source of funds or source of wealth documentation requires further clarification.
- Delays in sending and receiving funds between banks (stuck in bank verification).
- Applicant requires enhanced due diligence check or sometimes proper due diligence checks are unable to completed .

The CIU may classify these cases as “delayed for cause” until these issues are resolved. Your authorized agent will be able to help with.
Document Validity
Keep an eye on the validity of these documents. Do not let it expire..
- Passport must be valid for more than 6 months (do not submit expired passport)
- Police certificates (6 months)
- Medical reports. (3 months)
- Utility bill (proof of address) recent one
