Economic citizens (CBI) have full citizenship rights and previleges including Voting in Elections.
Right to vote and participate in elections. Dual citizens in St. Kitts and Nevis may have the right to participate in the democratic process of both countries, including the right to vote in elections, run for public office, and contribute to the political landscape. This active participation empowers dual citizens to have a voice in shaping the governance and policies of St. Kitts and Nevis, ensuring their interests are represented.
To vote, individuals must be citizens aged 18 or older and registered on the voters’ list in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Where the applicant claims to be qualified to be registered as a voter as a citizen of Saint Christopher and Nevis pursuant to section 37(1)(a), 37(1)(b) or 37(1)(c) of the Act, he or shall certify the correctness of the information so entered by placing his or her signature and date on the application and by producing—
(a) his or her birth or baptismal certificate;
(b) certificate of citizenship;
(c) deed poll;
(d) passport or driver’s licence;
(e) any other form of identification
National ID Card
A National ID card is a Voter ID with additional uses. In other countries, the National ID card is used to vote. It is also used when applying for health care and other important services. The government’s National Registration System will produce the card
The card will be issued to qualified voters only:
- Citizens of St. Kitts & Nevis 18 years and older;
- Commonwealth citizens who have lived in SKN for at least one year and are registered to vote.
- The cards will be valid for 10 years. For Commonwealth citizens, 5
years. For other legal residents, one year.
How to Register
- Collect form from the Electoral Office.
- Return completed form to the Electoral Office in Basseterre
or Charlestown. - A registration clerk will place your information in the computer,
and will ask additional questions - You will agree and a photo is taken.
- Keep your receipt in safe place.
