The St. Kitts and Nevis remains committed to ensuring that all applicants to the Citizenship by Investment Programme—regardless of the outcome of their application—are treated with fairness, dignity, and in accordance with the law. This includes individuals whose applications were rejected or deemed ineligible due to evolving geopolitical considerations, enhanced due diligence findings, or other regulatory grounds. In all such cases, the CIU, has instituted clear procedures to assess claims, communicate transparently with affected parties, and facilitate appropriate restitution where applicable.
Internal Checks
The CIU conducts continuous internal checks, engages in regular policy reviews, and implements timely amendments to ensure the Programme remains aligned with the highest international standards. This proactive approach enables the CIU to strengthen the integrity of the Programme, adapt to global developments, and maintain the trust of its international partners and stakeholders.
Automatic Rejection
The following categories of high risk applicants are automatically rejected by authorities.
- Applications received from Stateless people and nationals born in Russia, Belarus, Iran, Iraq and North Korea
- Criminal record or wanted people by law enforcement.
- Subject to international sanctions.
- Visa refusal received from Schengen states, UK, Canada
- Citizenship application previously rejected by OECS member states.
Cancellation of Citizenship
A CBI applicant who—
(a) has provided false information on his or her application form;
(b) has a criminal record;
(c) is the subject of a criminal investigation;
(d) is a potential national security risk to Saint Christopher and Nevis or to any other country;
(e) is involved in any activity likely to cause disrepute to Saint Christopher and Nevis; or
(f) has been denied an entry visa by a country to which citizens of Saint Christopher and Nevis have visa-free travel;
shall not be approved for Citizenship by Investment.
Refunds will continue to be issued in accordance with established legal and compliance protocols for all applicants who submitted payments in good faith but were subsequently deemed ineligible due to Government-imposed restrictions.
