Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are not legal tender in St.Kitts and Nevis. It is not accepted by government directly for citizenship by investment program. However these assets are accepted for source of wealth. All government fees and investments must be remitted in FIAT only.

  • Source of Wealth: The CIU now accepts cryptocurrency to prove as “partial” source of wealth. Please note a separate proof of wealth not derived from crypto will be required. There will be additional due diligence fees associated with this source of funds.
  • SISC/PBO Donations – Payments must be remitted in FIAT only to government bank account, crypto not accepted. It should come from personal or corporate bank matching the name of account holder and applicant. (must have 100% share ownership).
  • Real Estate – There is a possibility that handful of real estate developers accept Crypto (BTC, SOL, Litecoin, ETH, USDC, USDT). Please contact us to learn more.

The CIU applies additional, rigorous due diligence and documentation to verify the source of funds when cryptocurrency is involved. All crypto must be converted into fiat and remitted to the relevant government or approved real estate seller during the final step of the investment
